The department

Our Marketing and Business Development Team are responsible for managing the Firm's initiatives for growth, all public content including website, blogs and our presence in legal directories, hosted events, requests for proposals and panel applications, and the Firm's branding strategy as a whole.

The Marketing and Events Executive supports the Marketing and Business Development (MBD) team to ensure the smooth delivery of marketing and event activities across the firm. The role includes managing marketing lists, coordinating in-person and online events, contributing to digital and campaign content, and handling incoming enquiries. 

This is an ideal role for someone looking to build a career in professional services marketing, offers broad exposure to marketing communications, including digital marketing, client engagement, and operational processes.

Event Support & ROI Tracking

  • Coordinate logistics for in-person and online events, including venue liaison, invitations, RSVPs, delegate communications, and follow-up. Managing on-line event bookings and the registration process, the budget if appropriate and working with business partners on co-branded events as required.
  • Maintain the firm’s events calendar and support timely promotion of upcoming events through appropriate channels both internally and externally.
  • Prepare event packs and name badges, and attend events to support onsite setup and delivery, including welcoming attendees and keeping accurate lists of attendees for follow up purposes.
  • Collect and compile post-event feedback from delegates and internal teams.  Co-ordinating event feedback and provide statistical information about event attendance. Work with the Senior Marketing Executive to implement a consistent method of tracking return on investment (ROI) from events.

Marketing Campaigns & Digital Content

  • Coordinate in rotation with the marketing assistant all photography.  This will include taking the photographs of staff for use on the website and for press and working with professional photographers for some people and location photography to enhance the brand and the people photography.
  • Help to keep the website up to date and fresh by posting blogs, updating/adding profiles, publishing new content, promoting and maintaining events publicity online.
  • Coordinate content scheduling across platforms (LinkedIn, website, email) to ensure consistency and alignment with campaigns.
  • Assist with the creation and formatting of visual assets using branded templates where required.
  • Ensure all digital output adheres to the firm’s tone of voice, branding, and SEO best practices, under guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Use Google Analytics and other tools to provide monthly website and social media analytics when required, under the direction of the Senior Marketing Executive.
  • Contribute to award entries, marketing activities and assisting with legal directory submissions, as required, under the direction of other members of the MBD team.

Mailing Lists & Email Marketing

  • Own the day-to-day co-ordination of marketing mailing lists, ensuring data accuracy and GDPR compliance.
  • Work with colleagues across the business to encourage regular list updates and the inclusion of relevant client and contact data.
  • Support the planning and delivery of email marketing campaigns (via Mailchimp), including building, testing, and scheduling campaigns in line with agreed timelines.
  • Assist with monitoring engagement metrics and contributing insights to help refine future email activity.

Enquiry Handling & Team Support

  • Act as one of the first points of contact for incoming marketing and business development enquiries via the MBD inbox, ensuring timely, professional, and accurate responses, within agreed timescales.
  • Log enquiries and triage them to the appropriate member of the firm for legal input as required.
  • Provide general administrative support to the MBD team including scheduling meetings, coordinating deadlines, and updating team documents and trackers.
  • Support marketing projects and initiatives as required by other members of the marketing team.

Other information

Skills and experience

  • Ideally a graduate with over 3 years’ experience of working in a marketing role, (strong candidates with A levels and experience will be considered)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a marketing, events, or communications role (ideally in professional services or B2B).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Comfortable with data handling, including managing and importing/exporting mailing lists.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confident user or quick learner of tools like WordPress, Mailchimp, SmartSurvey, and CMS platforms.
  • Familiarity with social media (especially LinkedIn and Twitter) for business purposes.

Desirable:

  • Graduate (or equivalent experience) with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • Experience with event planning (in-person and virtual) and content creation.
  • Willingness to attend occasional early morning or evening events.

Location:

Gatwick with travel to other offices as required, working in the Gatwick office a minimum of 2 days per week combined with home working/working in other offices depending on the needs of the business.  There will be some early morning and late evening starts required for events and your hours will be adjusted accordingly
